Wind energy and battery storage for Latvia’s energy future.

VENTSPILS · LATVIA

Užava Energo

CONSTRUCTION PLANNED TO START IN 2027

For Užava Energo in Ventspils, Latvia, we plan to start construction in 2027. The project envisages up to 15 wind turbines rated at 7 MW each and a battery energy storage system (BESS) with 100 MW of power.

Schematic illustration of the project concept. It does not depict the actual site or final turbine layout.

Annual electricity generation: illustrative calculation

At the full 105 MW build-out, the wind farm could generate around 322 GWh of electricity per full operating year. The battery system can store part of the output for delivery at a later time.

Assuming a 30–40% capacity factor gives a calculated range of approximately 276–368 GWh per year.

Calculation assumption: 105 MW × 8,760 hours × 35% capacity factor ≈ 322 GWh/year. This is not a site-specific yield forecast or a forecast for the 2027 construction year. Actual output depends on wind conditions, turbine layout and losses, among other factors. Storage capacity in MWh has not yet been specified.
